Pricing
Price per square inch is determined by the complexity of the design.
Minimum charge of $50.
A small baby quilt or small table runner square inch price will be rounded up to the minimum $50 charge.
Digital designs range from $.025- $.035 per square inch.
Examples of pricing: To get the square inch of your quilt, multiply the length by the width.
A quilt top that measures 60 inches by 60 inches:
@ $.025 , 60 X 60= 3600 X .025=$90
@ $.03, 60 X 60= 3600 X .03= $108
@ $.035, 60 X 60= 3600 X .035= $126
Batting
Batting is not included in the per square inch price.
REQUIRED: Batting must be purchased from me.
This will give the best quality results for your quilt, and ensure compatibility with my Longarm machine.
Batting is charged per linear inch.
I will only use what is absolutely necessary. Whenever possible I will use the shortest side of your quilt top plus 5 inches.
Example: if your quilt measures 60 in. x 80 in. then I will use 60 inches plus 5 inches for a total of 65 inches.
A quilt top that measures 60 inches by 80 inches:
65 inches of QD 100% cotton @ $0.40 = $26.00
65 inches of QD 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.35= $22.75
I stock Quilters Dream batting in 100% Cotton and 80/20 Blend in natural select loft.
Other types of batting may be custom ordered such as Dream Wool, Dream Poly and Dream Bamboo. Contact me for pricing.
Both of these batting choices, in my opinion, have a lovely drape (i.e. the snuggle factor of a quilt) no matter how dense the quilting is.
Quilters Dream 100% Pure Cotton Natural Select Batting
$0.40 per linear inch.
If you are looking for that instant vintage quilt look after washing than this is the batting I would choose. It will shrink the most giving you the antique crinkle that a lot of quilters love including myself.
Quilters Dream 80/20 Blend Natural Select Batting
$0.35 per linear inch.
This is also a great choice for batting. It has less shrinkage that the 100% cotton but I would still take care to wash in cold water and use a low temperature setting when drying.
Thread
Thread is included in the per square inch price.
I use Premosoft and Glide threads by Fil-tech.
My particular style is to blend a neutral thread color with the medium to lightest fabrics in your quilt top.
My colors range from:
Whites
Creams
Light Gray
Medium Gray
Dark Gray
Navy Blue
Black
With the use of a neutral color the stitching will never overpower your piecing it will just add great texture!
I always match top and bottom thread colors no exceptions.
This helps reduce the look of polka dots on your quilt top. When you use a different thread color in your bobbin sometimes the bottom thread can be seen on the top of the quilt. This gives the illusion of bad tension, but in reality, you are seeing the bobbin thread through the hole the needle made while stitching.
How do I get my quilt to you?
Are you local to the Portland Metro area? If so, then we can arrange pick-up and drop-off options once you fill out my form for longarm quilting services. Need to ship? No problem! After my quilting form is filled out I will send you a shipping address. Be sure to stop by the Before You Ship section for recommendations on what you need to do before shipping your quilt to me.
Payment
On completion of your quilt I will obtain a shipping quote and email you an invoice via Paypal for Mail-in clients. If you would like me to purchase extra insurance on your behalf just let me know how much and I’d be happy to do it. I will add this to your invoice. The post office will only cover the amount of the actual quilt and not labor. So add up the replacement cost of all your fabric and batting if you had to remake this quilt!
Local clients I will also email you an invoice. For local clients I accept cash or check or you may request an invoice via Paypal if that is easier for you. Payment is expected at the time of quilt delivery. We can make drop off arrangements once I have completed your quilt.
Prompt and timely payment is much appreciated.
Once payment is received I will get your quilt in the mail (or arrange local drop off) and send you notice that your quilt has shipped. You will receive a tracking number.
