Hello! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Rebecca.

I am a believer in Jesus, a wife of a law enforcement officer, a mother of four, and grandmother of three. Now, by God’s grace, I am a professional computerized, edge-to-edge, long arm quilter.

My quilting journey started many, many years ago. Almost 25 years ago to be exact.

When my twin girls were born, who are nestled in-between their two brothers in age, I needed a hobby to help me stay afloat amongst the sea of endless laundry that comes with having your twins born only 16 months after your first born son. And yes I did cloth diapers!

I think quilting was destined to be that hobby. I have grandmothers on both sides, my husband’s and mine, who were quilters. I remember as a child going to my grandmother’s house, and seeing a bunch of ladies sitting around a huge quilting frame, needles in hand. I would watch as they each placed their mark on the quilt that was before them.

What started as a hobby has blossomed into a great love of the art of quilting. I love every aspect of the process; from choosing a pattern and the fabric, to the piecing (aka making the quilt top,) to the final stage of what’s known as the quilting, the process of stitching that keeps the layers of a quilt together.

Boy have we come a long way from the days of my grandmother’s hand stitching quilting bees, to the computerized, long arm quilting machines of today!

Did you know that in days past machine stitching a quilt was not considered as true quilting by some? I am so glad that is not the case today. All quilting, whether by hand, hand guided machine, or computerized, is such a work of art. Each artist brings their gift to the quilt top that is placed before them.

How did I get from hobby to a career in longarming? Well…..several years ago I had been asking the Lord how I could honor Him with the gift He has given me. Shortly after that prayer my cousin was diagnosed with cancer. Instantly I felt that tug on my heart that this was the direction the Lord wanted me to go. At once my quilting ministry was born. I was going to make quilts for those within my church body that are suffering with cancer, or anything that had devastated their lives. As you all know, there is no lack of illness or suffering in our broken world! BUT, I believe God always has a purpose in our trials to bring Him glory, and to build our faith in Him. God is called “the God of all comfort,” so if I can bring comfort to someone, and let them know how much they are loved by God in the midst of their suffering through the means of a quilt, then I will do it!

In the beginning of my quilt ministry journey I was doing all the quilting with my domestic sewing machine to finish my quilts. This quickly became quite the task. On my fiftieth birthday my hubby bought me a midarm machine, so I would no longer have to wrestle with the quilts on my domestic. This system worked for me for several years. I had so much fun with this machine. I wanted to continue to learn more, and do more with my quilts. I soon learned that I was very limited with my design choices, and my ability to perfect straight lines and circles. I couldn’t just do anything that I wanted to. So…I upgraded to an APQS Millenium with the Intelliquilter computerized quilting system. Now I can have those perfect circles and lines that stay straight. I also decided to turn my hobby into a business so that I can help others finish their quilts, and continue to bless those going through hard times.

My goal as a longarmer is to add great texture to a quilt that compliments the beautiful work that my client has put forth.

Quilt tops are of no use until we can get them to the finished stage, and into the hands of the loved one in whom it was made for.

I would love the opportunity to get your quilt tops finished so you can get them to the ones you love.

Let’s do this!

Rebecca
